Copyright Essentials Friday 23 April 2010 Leeds University Art Gallery
This course offers an introduction to the principles of copyright in the context of collections management. Participants will gain the practical tools they need to manage copyright as part of their daily work.
By the end of the course participants will have: • Considered the importance of best copyright practice • Understood the legal requirements of copyright and the use of documentation to achieve them • Understood the procedures for achieving best copyright practice • Considered shortfalls in their own policies regarding copyright and methods of improving them.
There will be a mix of presentations, practical exercises, discussion and one to one consultancy. Participants will receive packs of copyright materials. The course is suitable for employees and volunteers who are involved in establishing or improve rights management procedures within their organisation.
