Celebrating 20(1) years of Next Generation

Tuesday 5th July 2022

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Cost £12 per person (to cover lunch)

For 20 years, the Next Generation program has been providing development opportunities for people new to management, or people thinking about taking the next step into leadership. It is one of the longest lasting development courses available. With over 500 alumni, a whole generation of museum, library and archive professionals have developed through this program.

We would like to invite everyone who has ever attended, hosted or taught on the program over the last 20(1) years to come and join us for a light lunch to celebrate what we have achieved, network with colleagues past and present, and talk about the future of the program and where it might lead.

It is also a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about management and leadership for the future, to come to hear from those who have gone before.

A light buffet lunch and tea and coffee will be available from 12.30pm – 2pm with opportunities for discussion, networking, reflection and review from 2pm – 4pm.

This is a special social event to celebrate this amazing achievement and help us usher in the next 20 years of Next Gen training.

The FED Training Affordability Principles

Courses will be reasonably priced, discounted for Fed members, and for most courses, three free volunteer places will be made available on a first come first served basis (one per institution). We reserve the right to reduce the number of free places offered depending on the course maximum number allowed.

Courses will be led by experienced trainers who have relevant and current knowledge and skills, as well as experience of working in the heritage sector.

Courses will enable members to develop and add to their own skills and knowledge base, and to ensure that the courses we offer are up to date and relevant to the sector, our course programme will reflect members feedback. To that end we welcome course suggestions, so if you would like to see a specific training topic covered please contact the FED
