What will be covered?
Have a question about the Spectrum standard? Over the past year Collections Trust have been working on a revised edition of the Spectrum collections management standard, following extensive consultation with the museum sector. This new edition, Spectrum 5.0, was launched in September 2017. Sarah Brown, Outreach Officer for Collections Trust, will introduce key changes to both content and presentation, including two new procedures.

Delegates will be encouraged to participate through discussions and activities, and there will be plenty of opportunity for questions throughout.
We request that attendees bring examples of their organisation’s documentation policy, plans and procedures, if possible, to share and discuss during the day.

The role of Collections Trust
Collections Trust resources
This session is being run in partnership between Museum Development Yorkshire and the Collections Trust. The Collections Trust offer free training and advice through their ACE-funded outreach programme, working closely with the museum development network.
The session will be led by Sarah Brown. Sarah is the face of Collections Trust around the country, and works closely with the museum development network across the English regions to deliver free, ACE-funded events on a range of collections management topics. Sarah is the person to contact with your collection management queries.

Those who are responsible for developing their organisation’s collections management policies, plans and procedures.
Those already familiar with the Spectrum standard and wish to update their knowledge.
